SCHINDLER: Last generation lifts for "green" buildings

The Romanian subsidiary of Schindler Group, the Swiss manufacturer of mobility solutions, is the leader of the local market of elevators and escalators, with a share of over 30% of the total sales of new equipment. From the financial standpoint, the company reported in 2012 a 25% decrease in turnover in comparison with the previous year. The decline was caused by the lack of large-scale projects, but the significant difference was also generated by the comparison of these results with the ones recorded in 2011, a year in which outstanding revenues were registered. Being present for 14 years in this segment, the local subsidiary gradually strengthened its position whilst benefitting from the undeniable support of the quality of advertised products in its marketing efforts. The recession has affected to some extent the level of orders, but, nevertheless, the company management has proven a proactive attitude, offsetting the inherent reductions of new equipment deliveries through a focus on the activity of maintenance services for the installations included in the portfolio. The leadership position that the company holds on the local market constitutes in itself an additional pressure, requiring sustained efforts for the preservation of the performance achieved. The latter is possible solely in the context in which the attention is focused on the continuous optimization of the services - an essential condition for the improvement of financial outcomes. The demand for high quality equipments will increase significantly in the next period, due to the implementation of new energy efficiency and safety requirements imposed by the European legislation. Schindler Romania will focus further on strengthening its core business values: products of the highest quality, sustainable, safe, combined with development strategies that incorporate the latest technologies existent in the field, able to satisfy the requirements and needs of the customers, so that the company might remain in their perception as the best supplier in terms of quality and safety. For further information and a detailed analysis of the current TOP-Fereastra issue click here!
