Planned tower-buildings value exceeds €900 million

Seven buildings with heights over 100 meters and a total value of over €900 million are in various planning stages in Bucharest. However, it could be noted that two of these buildings' works are blocked indefinitely due to lack of funds and the other five are in various stages of planning or development. According to the information available on the real estate market, six projects with one building each (residential, commercial and office) and a project that will include two such buildings will be constructed in Bucharest. Regarding other important projects undertaken at national level, the most important aim mainly for highway construction and rehabilitation of national roads, while the private investors have turned their attention to the development of office buildings and shopping centers. Returning to the tower building projects planned in Bucharest, it has been recently announced the start of a project which would include five buildings (within which one will have 21 floors and the other four 11 or 12 floors). The project will be developed by the local company Baduc SA, a leading provider of construction materials. The assembly is planned to occupy an area of 20,000 sqm located on no.159, Calea Plevnei street. Another project that has received a favourable decision of the local authorities in September includes the construction of two tower buildings (with 30 and 35 floors), on the Regie Boulevard, on the site of a former cigarette factory. The developer is the local company Interagro (an agro-industrial and financial group). The project is currently under development planning and will be analyzed later in the meetings of the General Council of Bucharest. The construction of Ana Tower office building developed by Globe Trade Center (GTC), in partnership with Ana Group, can be initiated at any time, the deadline for the center being planned for 2014. The building will be constructed in the northern area of Bucharest and will include 24 levels and a total area of 30,000 sqm. The other two buildings, which should be, according to the initial plans, the tallest buildings in Bucharest, are blocked indefinitely (due to lack of funds) - namely Esplanada City Center and Dambovita Center.
