ANALYSIS: Shipments abroad stimulates the market of panels and door accessories

Being characterized by a greater flexibility in front of the change of the ratio between domestic offer and demand, the manufacturers and suppliers of decorative panels and door hardware have quickly adapted in front of the fluctuation of demand compared to the other types of companies from the thermal insulating joinery domain. Thus, by means of well-defined business plans, the managers of specialized company were able to counter-attack, through increasing their export operations, the lack of internal orders. As a result of this action, and with the help of the characteristics of the analyzed segment, the profile market has experienced a relatively different outcome in comparison with the domain in which it is included. Thus, if manufacturers have faced various problems arising from lack of orders in the first year of recession, being closely linked to the pace of residential construction building, they were able afterwards to imprint a tendency of recovering the initial losses, which was also visible last year. Among the first steps taken by manufacturers and importers of panels, door hardware and accessories was the restructuring of customer portfolio, so as to avoid the commercial problems generated by the growth of the number of payment incidents. Lately, the orientation of many beneficiaries (joinery manufacturers) towards deliveries abroad and panel supplying in other EU countries constituted the main reasons for which the stabilization of the turnover in the industry was achieved, independent of the socio-political and economical conditions of the present. On the basis of the initial list of 103 companies specialized in providing accessories used for the execution of thermal insulating joinery, namely: restraint systems (fasteners), window sills, door decorative panels, polycarbonate sheets and so on, some aspects defining each segment that might underpin an analysis performed with a good degree of accuracy could be outlined. In 2012, unlike the revenues reported by other providers from the industry, the situation was good for two of those segments, the only decrease being recorded in the sills supplies.
